I’m having the same issue - non of my categories are there so can’t assign expenses to correct categories- did you find a soloution?

We'll have to uninstall and reinstall the app to start on a clean slate. On your device, drag the app to the Uninstall section and click Yes to confirm. Refer to the following links to reinstall the QBO mobile app:
