I’m here to help you choose a parent customer when adding a sub-customer so you can keep track of those in a group, Nick.
When you allocate a sub-customer under your parent customer (head office), ensure to select the Is a sub-customer checkbox. This reveals the Parent customer dropdown menu, enabling you to choose the parent account from the list. Check out the screen recording below for your reference.
If you've already performed the steps above and the issue continues, we can go ahead and check if your browser's cache is the cause. To resolve this, I'd recommend performing the recommended troubleshooting steps.
Start by pulling up your account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox)
- Control + Option + P (Safari)
Once signed in, go to the Sales menu and select Customers to add a sub-customer.
If you're able to do so, return to your default browser and clear its cache. After that, restart your browser and log back into your QBO account to refresh the system.
However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend clicking the browser's Refresh icon (please see the screenshot below) or using other supported browsers.
Additionally, you might want to send statements to show customers summaries of their invoices, payments, credits, and balances. To guide you on how to do so, check out this article: Create customer statements in QuickBooks Online.
