Connecting to Power BI in the UK

You need a 3rd party connector. Otherwise, you may consider having another BI app to integrate with QBO natively.

Hello Community users, we just wanted to pop in and update this thread. Currently if you want to integrate Power BI with QuickBooks Online you would need to use a third party app. You can use the search function on our apps page here , there are currently 2 options of apps that connect with QuickBooks.

Hi QB Admin, can you help explain this a bit further please?   Going through help, all we get is you can download data to excel, which is well and good, but it is a lot quicker and automation savvy to connect direct to a datawarehouse or PowerBI (or equivalent).   We've connected to the back end data tables, but a lot of the data appears to be missing or it is unclear what the data keys are to connect tables.   Is there anyone that can provide a bit of knowledge or assistance to us on this?

Power BI doesn't support QB. You should explore another BI app to integrate with QB.

I have connected Power BI to Quickbooks multiple times as a Power BI consultant. I have developed my own script to do this which has multiple benefits over the native connector:
- You can extract data from multiple QBO accounts and combine it together (relevant for owners of multiple businesses and accountants)
- All P&L data is combined in a single table. You can also drill down to transactions that make up value of every account, filter by day and see data on accrual vs cash basis. Same for Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Account Receivables, Budget, etc.
