I have created a custom field which I want to delete. However, I understand you cannot delete a custom field once created, so you have to follow the instructions below so that it doesn't show up on the customer invoice layout.
Unfortunately, these instructions appear not to work:

If you want to delete the custom fields in an invoice, then that option is unavailable. However, you can remove them from your invoice. Here's how:
- Open or create an invoice.
- Tick the Gear icon beside the Help menu.
- Uncheck the custom fields you want to remove in your invoice.
If you need to remove custom fields on the other sales forms, we can go to the Custom form styles page. Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon on the top menu.
- Choose Custom form styles under Your Company.
- Tick Edit on the form template you want to change.
- Tap Content.
- Select the Header part in the sample form.
- Under Display, click the Custom field link.
- Remove the checkmark on it.
- Press Done.

QBO 1 - Gear icon on invoice layout clicked and this form appears. No custom field unselect option - only 'edit'
QBO 2 - Go to 'edit' and try to unselect tick box but warning notice appears when you try to save - you cannot save your 'unselection'. Neither can you individually select or unselect the different forms (it's only a 'select all' option)
