Allow me to share some insights to resolve your issue about a customer's payment through Paypal and why it shows the wrong amount for different currencies.
If you connect Paypal from the banking page, it can only pull through as a single currency. Otherwise, if you link it through the Apps page, I suggest contacting the Paypal Support team to help you further in this concern.
For Paypal payments in different currencies, you need to create the transaction manually.
I'm also adding an article for Paypal FAQs: Accept Card Payments with PayPal app FAQ.
Keep on posting here if you need anything else about the customer's payment. We'll respond as soon as we can.
Hi
Is there a fix to this yet?
I have a multii-currency QBO account, so it can handle multiple currencies.
When QBO imports transactions from PayPal, it only imports the first line of a transaction.
PayPal have 4x line items per transactions, the first is the original currency, then the exchange to the currency of the PayPal account (then the balancing journal entries). See attached.
If QBO could import all balance affecting transactions, then we'd get the correct figure (ie in line item 2).
I know this could be done manually, either by adding in the currency exchange, or importing the csv, but we don't use QBO for its automation :)
I'm sure for the developers, it's easy enough to pull more line items from the API.
And would be easier for us to just delete the non relevant line items.
Please ask.
You need a 3rd party app to reconcile Paypal transactions in multicurrency into QBO.

I hear your thought and see how important to bring transactions from PayPal with different currencies.
Fiat Lux - ASIA is right. You can utilise a third-party application to reconcile PayPal transactions with multi-currency. To find one, you can follow these steps:
Also, if you have questions about API, we have a separate online forum called the Intuit Developer Community. From there, you can post your concern about API. They can provide insights and guide you through.
You can always go back here if you have other questions. Take care.
