I buy and sell second hand musical instrument. Is there a way to send a purchase receipt to a customer I’ve bought an instrument from?

You can create a sales receipt to send to your customer for proof of purchase - this will also post a transaction for the sale in QuickBooks. To do this, click + new > sales receipt and enter the purchase details and customer email in the email field - once entered, press save and send to view a preview of the receipt (from here you can email or print the receipt to give to the customer directly/via post). 

There's no way to directly integrate the products from Square to QB, however, if you're able to export a CSV/Excel file containing a list of these from Square, you can use our import tool (click the cog > import data) to upload these. You may have to make some amendments or copy & paste data into our sample file to make sure you have all the required info. 

The VAT margin scheme is not supported on QBO and so we'd recommend reaching out to an accountant/bookkeeper for support with this. 

Hi, is there a way to make a PURCHASE receipt, not a sales receipt? This is used when we BUY from a client. Additionally, can such a receipt be made custom so it only looks at no VAT

 Hello Watches thanks for coming back to us, we only have sales receipts  or purchase orders we do not have purchase receipts in QuickBooks, you can leave this as feedback within the main cog wheel this gets sent straight to the developers team.
