I have staff that access the sales side of QBO only - when the software opens up they are able to see the dashboard. You can click the privacy but they can unclick it

Since your staff had limited access to the sales side only, they can only work under that permission. Though they can view the information on the dashboard, they can't make any changes from there. As another option, consider having a CRM app for your sales team.

Hello - we need these particular people to be able to track a project - check profitability and to raise the invoices.  We just don't want them to see the dashboard - I don't understand why this wouldn't be an option.  The first screen could be the company logo instead just for this access level

What kind of business do you run? a construction company, a field service one, or else?

Its a ecology survey company - the project managers need to be able to check project profitability/raise invoices but they shouldn't be able to see the financials of the company - at the end of the day they are staff that should not be able to see these things
