Does anyone have any idea about when the Online Desktop App will be available? Despite the Quickbooks site stating that the App is available I cannot access it via the instructions on their site which were updated 2 weeks ago?
@Rob1961Two things. I don't think that Desktop app works in the UK, probably never will. Secondly, don't even bother wasting your breath asking Intuit if it will be available as they'll just ask you to send feedback via the cog of doom.

There is no exact date when this will be released however The 'Get the desktop app' option in the Company Cog, will appear for customers using QuickBooks Online Accountants and QuickBooks Online Advanced in the next few days for them to download and start using the app.
Customers on Simple Start, Essentials and Plus cannot install the QuickBooks Online app , it will only be available to QuickBooks Advanced and Accountants in the gears icon.
So it is now available? Please advise...Bear in mind you withdrew it a couple of years ago in the UK.. have you now fixed it?
Hello Buzz21, The 'Get the desktop app' option should be showing in the Main Company Cog Wheel under the settings column, it will only appear for customers using QuickBooks Online Accountants and QuickBooks Online Advanced.
Customers that are on Simple Start, Essentials and Plus cannot install the QuickBooks Online app , as it is only be available to QuickBooks Advanced and Accountants in the main cogs wheel icon.
OK thanks. Was this publicised in any way? I totally missed the fact that intuit were relaunching the desktop app. Would there have been an email to Pro Advisors about this?
No problem at all Buzz21, no there was no emails sent out about this to customers or any advertisement on this , it is a discover it yourself sort of thing that intuit did for the customers by having this new feature in both accountant accounts and quickbooks online advanced accounts.
Fair enough... madness that they wouldn't publicise what should be a significantly helpful tool (will it be?!) .. but fair enough. The wheels really do seem to have come off at Intuit!
Ashleigh, I had downloaded the online desktop app on my accounting computer. It really helped with the constant logging in, however, that computer went down last week. I do not have the advanced version required, is there anyway I can get it back?
