We sell bundles of product for a set amount say £10. I can create the bundle but have to put a sales value on each line rather than at the top level. Any thoughts?

The amount of the bundle should automatically calculate based on the quantity of the separate products within it - this should display next to the bundle when creating an invoice and should allow you to save without filling out an amount on each line.

Does QuickBooks not allow you to save this without filling out each transaction line?

The point is the bundle is a set price, not the sum of various components. It might be made up of 5 items. Not all of these have sales prices. However, we sell the total kit for £10. It includes a combination of stock items and non-stock consumables. I have no way of apportioning the sales value over the components. I need to find a way to record the Bundle sales price of £10, yet show the stock lines underneath so they are deducted from stock (but with no attributable sales value).

I am trying to find a way to record this in QBO. 

Any help really appreciated. If only you could enter the value of the bundle.....

We create the sales receipts via an upload, which is created from our Shopify store. So its reasonably automated, so manually amending line items is not really an option.

I was wondering about trying to create a memo line item and use some automation to add that as an extra service type line item to record the sales value then add the bundle at nil sales price underneath - I will see if I can get that to work.

I will also add as a suggestion for development in the future.

I've just sold QBO to a new client that uses stock.  They sell items that are made from a bunch of components (which they also sell separately) and I thought that the bundle would be perfect for them.

I've had the same issue with the software as Sandra and have discovered this  workaround; I don't have a problem with the workaround.

My issue is this - the line on which the bundle shows on the invoice isn't displaying the VAT code or VAT amount.  It doesn't appear to be possible to edit the bundle line.  Is there any other way that the VAT treatment can be brought into this line?  

I've tested this on the demo company and even when separate items have sales prices and VAT codes this happens.  (copy attached).  Help!!

Yes I do.  Also the pdf invoice I attached came from the QBO demo data using water bottles and name badges if that helps?  They too have VAT codes against them.

One more question, can you also tell us if every item on the bundle has a unique VAT code? VAT details will not show up in the Line item section if each of the item has its own code.

However, QBO will still calculate the VAT amount based on total rate assigned to each item.

If I am not mistaken, I have the same issue. I would simply like to hide the products the bundle contains entirely, showing only the bundle and have the VAT code appear next to the bundle. There is no possibility to do that and if we check the answer from QuickBooks Team from the following link,

Answer: "However, if you want to enter the VAT directly to the bundle, the functionality is unavailable at this time. You’ll have to enter a sales transaction to add the tax."

This does not work for the use case mentioned and QuickBooks should really look into that.

If we are not showing the items which make up the bundle, we should be able to see the VAT code next to the bundle.

Kind request to set this as a feature request and provide a timeline for the release candidate once it is approved.
