Let me share an alternate solution on how to show the tax number, daveyj1.
The information recorded in the Customer's window will show up on the Customer Details screen, except for the VAT registration number. For the tax number to appear in the screen indicated above, let's utilize the custom field function and enter your tax number from there.
I recognize how vital it is for your business to display tax data from the screen indicated above. Incorporating this feature into the program will surely benefit a lot of users.

@daveyj1 I see you are getting a nice collection of automated bot replies :face_with_tears_of_joy::tired_face:
this is so sad Mark, 20 odd years of quickbooks use reduced to this, I can put in a VAT number, but I'm not allowed to feckin see it.
Its like Yes Minister, Monty Python and Fawltey Towers all rolled into one.
It's bonkers isn't it. I managed to get my 20+ of data years transferred over from desktop about 18 months ago and run both versions side by side, just to make sure I knew how much of a mess I was heading for.
I can 'just' manage to make it work but in the eyes of my clients and my branding it looks like I've gone amateur hour, logos missing, no extra column on send forms so I can have simple thing like, customer purchase orders per line on an invoice. Simple things that have been the bedrock of Desktop for decades.
I've come to the conclusion that Intuit have ZERO intention of fixing anything, I've stopped complaining because I got sick of the reply bots, and the couple of actual people who do reply tell you they'll send on our concerns. While even admitting that it's not right and should be fixed.
The thing that make me mad is that it is so very close to being a great product, but they seem to be more obsessed with introducing 'feature' that nobody seems to have asked for, like the new shortcuts. Shortcuts to what was already menu items until the hid them under a stupid animation pop out which designer went off about 10 years ago...
Anyway, back to my beer.
