Hello there, TracyG14.
I'm here to help you submit the correct payroll form. Before we get started, did you already submit the EPS form of last year and need to amend it now?
Unlike the FPS report, the EPS report is cumulative meaning it will contain data for all periods in the current tax year to date on the most recent submission. The EPS becomes available and is able to be submitted between the 6th - 19th of the following tax month, if not submitted by this date then the EPS for that period can be deleted and an EPS will be generated for the following period containing the data from the deleted period.
If you reported the wrong pay or deductions in 2018 to 2019 or 2019 to 2020 tax years, you can correct this by submitting an Earlier Year Update (EYU) or a further FPS with the correct year-to-date figures. Submitting EYU depends on the payroll service you're using. If you have the Advanced payroll, you'll have to submit it through HMRC basic tools.
You'll reach out to us if your employee's paychecks need correction to calculate CIS deductions properly.
