How do I produce the P45? An employee has ceased and I have put the leaving date in

Hey Billsss,

The P45 is automatically generated when the payroll for the period covering the leaving date is ran, and will include the figures for this period.

Please check this was produced by going to the Employee > Documents.

Thanks :)

How do I produce the P45? An employee has ceased and I have put the leaving date in

Hi

I am trying to print a leaver's P45. I have followed the steps to mark her as a leaver and when I click on the 'documents' tab it says her P45 is there but when I click on it nothing happens.

Could anyone advise please?

I am using QB's online.

Many thanks

Amanda

Thanks for joining this thread, amandapalmer226.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to print your employee’s P45. I’m here to help ensure you can get a hard copy of the mentioned form.

Since you’ve already marked the worker as a leaver, you’ll have to run their final payroll. This way, you can generate the P45 form.

Also, make sure your PDF viewer is up to date in order for the form to be clickable. Once done, follow these steps to print it.

Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Payroll menu on the left panel to choose Employees.
  2. Click the drop-down to select the Leavers menu.
  3. From the list, look for the employee you’re working on.
  4. Then go to the Documents tab and print the P45 from there.

This reference provides more in-depth information about the process: Employee P45 in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. It includes a video so you can easily follow the steps as well as the link on how to send the FPS.

For other payroll topics, click here to access our self-help articles. From there, you’ll see the resources for QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll hub and QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.

Feel free to leave a comment if you still have questions about running the P45 form. I’ll be right here to make sure this is taken care of for you. Enjoy the rest of your day.
