I have gone tax digital, however the return still shows as pending after 6 hours, how long does it take to submit to HMRC?

I'm here to help share information about submitting VAT return to HMRC for MTD.

Upon submitting a VAT return, it takes approximately 24 hours that the status will turn to be completed/submitted.

For the meantime, you’ll have to wait for that specific period for the VAT return be shown as submitted.

Hi, my accountant submitted the return on the 12th April, its been pending ever since. I have updated the tax digital yesterday at 11.30 am, but it is still showing as pending.  The connection to HMRC seems to keep falling out ,and I have done the refresh several times. I appreciate it is only 24hrs, however this return is now overdue as for the period to end of March, therefore is quite urgent.

This is a known issue to the engineers. Do you have access to Facebook or Twitter? If so, could you please send us (QuickBooksUK) a PM with your email address so we can send the engineers your account information? They will then change the status from pending to rejected so you are able to resubmit the return.

Hi, my accountant has been speaking to QB about an hour ago, and your engineers are unblocking it for her, so we should be ok.  Thanks for your help.
