This is helpful but I see the following warning when following your steps to making the employee redundant:
You can't pay an employee after they are terminated, even if their leaving date is in the future.
Does this mean that I set up the redundancy payment, then run the payroll, and only after that do I change their status to terminated? It seems odd to do the calculation before the system knows that this is the final payment?

You would have to, as you have alluded to, include the employee in the payrun and add or amend any payments accordingly, run the payroll, change the status of the employee to terminated and then submit the FPS.
