It's normal to overlook tasks like running payroll, Adam, especially when you're busy. Let’s find a solution to ensure your employee gets paid without further delays.

In QuickBooks Online Payroll, you can create an unscheduled payroll run for any employee you have missed. Please note that this feature is available exclusively in QBO Advanced Payroll. If you're using this version, you can set up a new pay schedule to accommodate the payment.

Here's how:

1. Go to the
Payroll page.

2. Select the New Pay Run option.

3. In the Create New Pay Run box, fill in:

  • Pay Schedule
  • Pay Period Ending
  • The date pay run will be paid
  • Manually add employees to pay run
  • Create pay run with empty pays

4. Once you've entered all the necessary details, finalize the payroll by clicking Finalise Pay Run.

5. Follow the prompts to complete the process.

If you’re on Standard Payroll, you may want to consider setting up an internal agreement with your employee to process the payment outside of QuickBooks.

Additionally, I'll share these valuable resources that will guide you through the process of modifying employee information and customizing payroll reports in QBO Payroll, enabling you to manage your payroll effectively:

I'm here to help you manage your payroll efficiently through QBO, Adam. If you need further assistance with paying your employees or any other payroll tasks, leave a comment below, and I'll be more than happy to assist you on your path to financial success.
