Hi Leedsfox What is the start date of the SMP and what is th edate of the payrun, whats's the employees start date and what payroll system are you using standard or advanced?
hi, start date of SMP is 10/05 and pay run is today, she started April 2019 and this is standard payroll
Also I need to submit an EPS I thought this would be generated when I put her SMP info in but nothing has been? Payroll needs to go through today and this is a nightmare to figure out?
Thanks for posting some updates about this payroll concern, @Leedsfox,
Let's make sure everything is set up correctly in your Standard Payroll. If the SMP not showing up when running payroll, try to check this link for the calculation and how it works: Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll
Regarding your EPS submission, take note of the following requirements to be able to submit the data:
You can send your EPS after completing all the payroll for the tax month, or by the 19th of the following month if HMRC has to give you credit for what you owe from the EPS. It isn't automatically created each time you run payroll. You should only submit one EPS for a tax period.
For the instructions and complete details about this, see this link here: Submit EPS to HMRC in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll

Hi, I have gone through the calculation post a lot, she qualifies for SMP. Do I need to add the SMP pay to get payslip as other taxable pay? I thought quickbooks would generate and populate this itself?
I've claimed for the SMP from HMRC but read I had to submit an EPS for this  I’m a bit lost with it and stressed out.
I’ve had to run payroll as it was due on Friday, I have left her payslip blank although have paid her SMP to her bank. I need to have this sorted for Friday?!
Thanks for getting back here, @Leedsfox.
Once you have set up the SMP for the employee and entered it on the first pay run, the system will handle the calculation for the next pay run. When you go on the pay run for the next period, it populates the from and to date for the next batch of SMP payment.
