I have just received notification from HMRC that my payroll was not submitted! how do I fix this?

For some reason that I still do not understand my first PAYROLL in the standard payroll program did not submit to HMRC! I have just received a notification from HMRC that have may now have to pay a fine!  how do I fix this?

Welcome to the Community page, 

 

Can you go to taxes> payroll taxes and you need to make sure on the taxes page for payroll all the submissions have gone through and they don’t say rejected. If they say rejected you will need to know why they have been rejected. You need to make sure the gateway id is correct and the accounts office reference is correct and did you activate the payroll code HMRC provided to you, HMRC normally specify if they want an EPS but with you are saying the payroll has not gone through which I am taking there has been no FPS submissions at all, can you please confirm this for us thanks. 

 

As for the fine if you did not receive the  activation code you can go back to HMRC and complain if it the gateway id you need to confirm  which platform you signed up for the payroll, are you vat registered if so did you add the payroll on to that platform so you would enter in that gateway id and password, or did you just sign up with HMRC paye and create a new log in details you need to check, by signing into hmrc  with the gateway id and password and check it is correct.
