QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

foodcart.stocksy.jpg

Many small business owners have found success by establishing themselves as the face of their brand.

When putting your business forward, are you front and centre? Do you distinguish between your personal brand and your business brand?

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

I'm not the face of my brand - we put the product brand first. However, it was a really tough decision whether to focus on the company brand or the product brand. Add a human brand in there too and that would have been too much. We ended up deciding to invest solely on the product brand but it wasn't easy - and I don't know if we made the right decision. Have others had to wrestle that issue?

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

I created a hybrid @EmilyCowan.

I am the face of my brand, but my company has its own name and products/programs have their own brands. This is important because when I decide to sell my company someday, a new buyer will be able to leverage the programs I have created without a significant loss of traction.

Great questions! J.

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

That's an excellent point @Anonymous. If you brand yourself, it's harder to sell. I love the suggestion that we think of our potential exit at launch. Brilliant.

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

Great post, @EmilyCowan !

I am the face of my own brand and my brand name features part of my own personal name! Because I am a freelance writer and fitness blogger it's important that I keep my identity simple. My branding has always stayed the same and so has my company name. It's daunting knowing I am the 'face of my business'! Great too though, I have all of the control.

However, because of this, it's hard for me to switch-off completely from my work.

@pioneerSC204 I saw that you run a small painting business, how do you brand yourself, do you use your own personal name? I would love to know more about your business in the comments below!

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

We use a separate name and brand than that of myself or my husband.  The reason we went that direction is simply because it branched off from a company with whom he previously worked.  However, every time we order marketing materials, we include his name and direct phone number.  It does help keep things separate, but it can get a little confusing since the name is initials....that aren't his.  Anyway, it works for us!

QUESTION: Are you the face of your brand?

Hi, @pioneerSC204

Welcome to the Community and thank you for commenting :)

I completely agree. If it works for you and your company, then it's the greatest solution. Have you ever considered having a 'business' phone number and keep things separate? Does your husband find it difficult providing his own details for business matters?

I would love to hear more about your company, what is it you do? Do you own a painting business for interiors or for something completely different? How long have you been in business?  :)
