Hi there, @William Holden.
A certain threshold requirement is needed for business owners, like you, to get working with taxes digitally in QuickBooks Online.
When a business has reached the threshold within or above £85K amount of annual taxable turnover, they'll be required to use MTD in submitting the VAT returns.
Kindly read and use this article to learn more: Everything you need to know about Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT with QuickBooks Online.
Now, you'll see the Submit with a Spreadsheet option when you've started and fully completed setting up the MTD settings. Let's check your profile to get started.
- Click Taxes.
- At the top, make sure you see your Enabled VAT Making Tax Digital badge.
The detailed steps are found in this article: Authorise QuickBooks to Interact with HMRC - MTD for Small Businesses.
