I notice that Intuit Quickbooks is still not on the Inland Revenue's list of approved software for Making Tax Digital for partnerships so my choice of accounting software cannot do the Partnership Tax Return. Is there a workaround, or should I be looking to switch to a package that's on the approved list?

Hi Rich55, we do not currently support partnership (SA800) tax returns; you may be able to customise the chart of accounts and PL report to view the information required but we don't have any specific guidance on this unfortunately.
Hi there, Rich55.
I"m here to provide some clarification regarding this matter.
Upon checking here on my resources, Partnership is already supported for MTD in QuickBooks Online. You can check out this article for more information about the supported features: Table of the features that will be supported for MTD in QuickBooks Online.
I've added this article to know more about the frequently asked questions about MTD in QuickBooks Online: Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT FAQ.
Please keep in touch if you have further questions about this. I've always got your back.
Thank you for the prompt reply, that's really appreciated.
Now i need to find out how to go about sending my Tax Return from Quickbooks, and if I find out I will contact the Inland Revenue to check if Intuit can be added to their approved list. They already include Sage and many others so it's strange that a big competitor like Intuit has been omitted.
I have checked that link now and can see it refers to Quickbooks online VAT submission support and not Making Tax Digital for Partnerships. I am not registered for VAT so have no need of a means to deal with Customs and Excise regarding VAT. However, I do need to submit an online return for the Partnership showing Profit and Loss etc. which can now only be done online via 'approved' software. I cant see any reference to Intuit supporting this feature now, or having any plans to be added to the approved list in the future.
Does anyone know of the best way to achieve what I need without switching to another accounting package, it seems a hassle to have to move everything?

Thank you so much, that does help to explain why I couldn't find a way to do what I need.
Not the answer I was looking for but it does explain the limitations of QBO. I dont suppose this is the forum to get suggestions on accounting packages that are easy to switch to and have all the functions needed by a small partnership.
