Hello there, Gedpropertysolutions.
In QuickBooks Sole Trader (QBST), the Split Transaction feature is only available for transactions downloaded directly from your connected bank account. This feature allows you to easily divide a bank transaction into multiple categories.
However, cash transactions, such as those involving a receipt with multiple items paid in cash, work differently. Since they don’t come directly from your bank, they won’t automatically appear in QuickBooks, and the split feature isn’t available for these transactions. Instead, you would need to manually record these as individual transactions in QuickBooks.
If your business often deals with multiple-line cash receipts and splitting these is important, you might want to explore upgrading to another QuickBooks Online version. They make it easier in categorising and tracking transactions and can save time when managing receipts with multiple items.
