can i upgardw from pro 2016 desktop

Hi there, Lee. Please note that Intuit has stopped selling and supporting all UK Desktop versions, including Pro, Premier, and Enterprise.

Because of this, there is no newer Desktop version available for you to purchase or upgrade. Even if you found a copy from 2021, it would still have the same 14,500-item limit that is currently blocking your invoices. The Desktop product line no longer exists in the UK. You have no option but to upgrade to a QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription.

Switching to QBO is the only way to remove the item limit. Online versions (Plus or Advanced) can handle far more items, so you can keep adding what your customers need. You'll also stay compliant with the UK's Making Tax Digital (MTD) rules. Your data is safe, you can move your 2016 records to the cloud, and keep all 19 years of your history.

While we  know you prefer the Desktop experience, the software has simply reached its technical limit. Moving to QuickBooks Online is the only functional path forward to get your invoicing back up and running.
