Hello
I have a client who I need to invoice the same invoicing address but with several different shipping addresses. so I've setup four customers, all with the same invoice address and each one has a separate delivery address.
The problem I've got is that in order to tell them apart when selecting the customer to invoice i've used the 'display name as' to say, for example:
Company (Site 1)
Company (Site 2)
Company (Site 3)
Company (Site 4)
But this then appears on the top of the customer's address line which I don't want them to be able to see.
Is there another way? Or a way to have a 'tag' or memorable name which means something to me when selecting the customer but wont show on their invoice?
Thanks

Hey Matt,
I appreciate the detailed post. This would be the correct way to setup a customer with multiple shipping addresses; the display name is internal but will be displayed on the invoice if there is no customer name entered in the First, Middle, or Last name fields on the customer information panel.
If you edit the customer to have a name entered in these fields then the display name should not show on the invoice. Please let me know if you have any further queries :)

Amazing :)
Exactly what I needed thank you!
Hello, I am having a problem with the way my customer details are displayed on my estimate (I have not tried an invoice yet) The company name is shown AND the display name AND the customer contact name. Display Name is mandatory so I can't turn it off, the result is :
Company Display Name
Contact Name
Company Name
As the company name and the display name are the same, it looks odd.
Hi Nicole,
Have you created your own estimate template, or have you used the one in QuickBooks or have you not done one yet in the custom form styles, Could you also provide us with a screen shot of your estimate page so we can have a look into this company name and dsiplay name showing twice. Thanks
Hi Nicole,
If you are not wanting the name to show twice in the customer information sections then just take out the company name and just leave the display name as in.
Can I clarify does the same name appear twice when you do a print preview for your estimate or does it just show once?
Hello,
I am having this problem that the person wrote about with statements. How can I solve this? Thanks.
Thanks for joining this thread, Lily12.
I want to help you out with your statements, but I need more details. Can you tell me more about the problem you are experiencing? You can also share a screenshot of the page you are working on. Just make sure to grayed out any sensitive information.
Looking forward to your reply.
Well this isn't very helpful because display names are most useful as Last Name, First Name which no one wants to display in the address. If one uses the 'first name middle name last name' blocks there's no place for a spouse. So there's no way under the system you're describing to mail an invoice to a married couple 'Joseph & Cynthia Walsh' because no one wants that customer listed under J in the customer list, and there's only room for one name in the blocks.
