We have QB Desktop (Premier 2014) and are moving to QBO. One account--the QB default account for recording exchange rate differences--isn't transferring; I'm looking at having to manually recreate 7 years of transactions. (Literally thousands). The *only* reason we are going with QBO as opposed to Xero (which offers exotic perks like "sales orders") is the ability to transfer over our history. Any suggestions for me before I give up on QB? :( If I'm going to have to put in hours in any event to import history, there's no benefit....
Hello MySup
Are you doing the migration yourself through the export to QuickBooks Online or has this been requested by the migrations team? The rounding is different in desktop in comparison to Online which could cause an issue or potentially if there are transactions which should not have been in the exchange differences account.
We would need to look at the account itself to see why this is happening. Can we ask in this instance if you can call our desktop team on 08081689535 and they can do a screen share to have a look at why this may be or alternatively we can request or migrations team to call you and they can do the transfer of the data and make sure the exchange rate differences account uploads correctly
If you want to go for the latter let us know we would just need the best time and date for a call

Thanks for the response. I'm doing it myself. I don't think it's a rounding issue; the entire account (for FX variances) isn't being imported, which means that transactions which went through it aren't being imported either.
Hello Mysup
Does it bring up any error when you try and import did you export the chart of accounts and are importing it manually or is it the full file and this is only part that will not upload?
Thanks
Emma
