Hi, Carol. Let me give you insights about the availability of our QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2023 plan.
With the recent update and changes to accounting and tax regulations, Intuit has decided to discontinue QBDT for the UK region. UK customers won't be able to purchase QBDT anymore. Furthermore, the access and support for QuickBooks Desktop will end on 30 June 2023.
The good news is that you can always subscribe to our QuickBooks Online (QBO) products to continue tracking your entries. If you have QBDT data, you can also move them with the help of Movemybooks. It's a self-service data conversion tool that automatically converts and transfers your data. You can open this link for more details: Moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
To get more details about why QBDT has stopped working for the UK region, check out this article: QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation support.

Hi Angelyn, Thank you for replying. Yes I'm aware of all that. We've been with Quickbooks Desktop for over 20 years. I don't want to go online but I've got no choice though it's unfuriating to learn that the US still have the desktop version.
