How do I disable AST (Automatic Sales Tax) in QuickBooks?

Disabling the automated calculation of VAT on Sales is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Aidan212. Instead, we can change the default VAT to prevent it from appearing in future transactions. I'll guide you through the steps.

Please note that setting the default tax rate to 'NO VAT' won't affect your existing transactions, only the new ones.

Here's how to change the default VAT:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.

  2. In the Advanced tab, look for Accounting and select the pencil icon.
  3. Change the default tax selection to No VAT.

  4. Select Save and then Done.

For further details, you can refer to this link: Turn off VAT in QuickBooks Online.

If you want, you can also customise your sales forms to suit your style.
