If you can't see the account in the Account Connection window, I'd suggest verifying with your bank that the account is active and available to connect to QBO. For additional details, refer to this article: Disconnect accounts connected to online banking in QuickBooks Online.

Hi, i just keep receiving the "Something unexpected happened" page with no error code. Im trying to connect via santander, i go through online banking with no issues. Problem only occurs after im back on quick books, near the final stage. Ive never connected a bank account. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hello, OAElectrics. Let's check if this is due to your browser issue with the message you received about something unexpected that happened.
If you are experiencing issues with connecting via Santander and receive a message about "Something unexpected happened," the problem may be related to your browser. One of the first steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue is to open your QuickBooks account using an incognito or private browser window. This will prevent your browser from using cached data or extensions that may interfere with the banking connection functionality. To open an incognito or private browser window:
Once you have opened the incognito or private browser, log in to your QuickBooks account and try to connect to your Santander account. If the report is not freezing, the problem is likely related to temporary internet files stored in your browsing application.
Please return to the regular browsing session and delete your temporary internet files once they work correctly. Clear your browser cache and cookies. This will remove any stored data causing conflicts with the banking connection. Additionally, you can use a different browser to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, specific browsers may not be compatible with certain features. It's also important to update your browser with the latest version. Outdated browsers can cause issues with website functionality, including banking.
After successfully connecting your bank account and downloading your transactions, you can begin reviewing each transaction in detail. This includes examining the description, amount, date, and other relevant information. By doing so, you can ensure that each transaction is accurately recorded and categorised: Categorise and match bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you need anything else about connecting your Santander bank account. I'll be right here to answer your questions. Have a great day!
