Hi
I've also had trouble with reconnecting my HSBC accounts for several months now. I have tried so many times and just end up going round in circles. I tried to follow your instructions, however this isn't working for me. It's so frustrating. I've copied and pasted my bank's URL, but the system doesn't recognise this bank and if I just click on the HSBC icon and get as far as selecting the account to be reconnected it says something like these accounts are already linked. Someone, please help me! :(
Hi there, Kathryn Smith.
Thank you for posting here in QuickBooks Community and I appreciate you for providing the troubleshooting steps you've done to resolve the issue.
Being unable to reconnect your bank account in the system can be caused by the new banking regulation. It means that on March 14, 2020, bank data can only be downloaded into QuickBooks through Open Banking. This allows customers to share their financial information electronically. For those financial institutions that do not support this feature, are advised to manually import their bank transactions using CSV file uploads until the new connection is made available.
However, if this option is already available on your bank, I recommend upgrading the bank feed connection so you can now reconnect your accounts. Please know that our system is updating the bank feeds to comply with new Open Banking regulations.
If the issue still persists, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account to investigate the cause of the problem.
Here's how to contact them:
1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
3. Click Contact Us.
4. Under What can we help you with?, enter your concern about your reconnecting HSBC accounts.
5. Click Let's Talk.
6. You'll be routed into the Choose a way to connect with us page.
7. Select how you want to contact them and fill in the information.
Please refer to this article to see different information about Open Banking including the benefits of this feature: Open Banking FAQ.
You can always leave a reply below if you have any other questions. I'll make sure you're all set. Have a nice day!
Hi
I'd use the online chat or phone call-back options. Unfortunately QuickBooks just doesn't work very well. You'll find it just stops working (sometimes due to an update by QB that requires you to reconnect your accounts and sometimes for no apparent reason). They sell it on being the most established in the market place but it doesn't seem very user friendly.
Good luck!
