Hello,
I work for the family support charity Home-Start Herefordshire (1113432). We have been using a desktop licensed version of QB for many years. Unfortunately the PC it is installed on is on it's way out and we need to transfer to donated laptop. We only the use the most basic reports and cannot sign up to a subscription. How should we proceed please?
Best wishes,

Hi James HomeStart Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community. The desktop products have been discontinued along with the associated support however we have provided an article that maybe of assistance: https://intuit.me/3AoAVtv[…]all-quickbooks-desktop-another-computer/L5cOAsQyW_GB_en_GB. If you require an activation or validation code please reach out to us.
Hi John,
Thanks for the reply, but the link appears to be broken?
Many thanks,
Hi James HomeStar Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I have included another link: thttps://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/help-article/reinstall-products/move-reinstall-qui...
Great.
We have our installation key code and reg code, but they have too many digits to be a licence number and/or product number for the install.
What's the best way of getting these please?
Thank you
Hi James HomeStart We're unable to provide you with the licence and product code, the numbers maybe on the original disc or packaging.
Hello again,
If you look at the image I posted earlier, those are the product codes, however they have too many digits for the installer. The help link on the installer is also broken i'm afraid.
Hi James HomeStart The product codes that are on the image are not the licence number or product codes. The link on the installer has been removed as desktop support has been discontinued. There maybe a Community member that reads this post that can offer assistance.
Which Windows OS do you run? QB Desktop 2003 is ancient and I am not sure you can run it on recent Windows OS. If you prefer to keep using QB Desktop, you can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 as a workaround.
Hi,
The desktop is running 7. The laptop we would like to use is 10. Would the trial version be limited do you know?
Thanks,
You can use the trial version of QBD 2021 Premier on your win 10 for good if required. I can still run it on my notebook.
