Let me share some information about the process when linking your Barclay's account and how to get rid of the error.

 

The Barclays bank requires PINsentry when either connecting a new account or updating the existing bank information inside QuickBooks. Memorable words and passcodes are not accepted. However, another layer of security is requested.

 

PINsentry gives you added protection for your accounts as well as access to our full online banking service. 

 

To get rid of the error code OBA28 and connect your bank successfully, you'll need to utilize the PINsentry token. That said, I'd recommend reaching out to your bank support so they’ll be able to access your account in a safe environment and guide you in generating it.

Hi I am having the same problem but I do not understand what you mean by "utilize the PINsentry token."? How do I do that? When I ask Barclays they just tell me to contact Quickbooks, it's so frustrating

Hey there, Woofsandhoofsdorset. Allow me to step in and help you sort things out.

 

We request the PIN Sentry code for your own security because we do not have permanent access to your banking feeds.

 

PINsentry provides you with additional account security as well as access to our full online banking service. The following are the advantages of using this feature: 

 

I recommend going to https://www.barclays.co.uk/help/online-banking/login/setup-passcode-word/. This will explain how PINsentry works in greater detail. 

 

Once you have the Mobile PINsentry appear after 10 days, you can log in using it. Here's how: 

 

  1. Log in to Mobile Banking using your unique Mobile Banking passcode.
  2. Tap on your account management menu in the top left-hand corner of your app. You’ll then see the option for Mobile PINsentry.
  3. To log in to Online Banking using Mobile PINsentry, tap IDENTIFY on your Mobile PINsentry. This will generate a unique 8-digit code.
  4. Go to your Online Banking login page and select the ‘Log in with mobile PINsentry’ option. This will prompt you to enter the unique 8-digit code generated by your Mobile PINsentry.
  5. You’re now protected and can start using the full range of services in Online Banking.
