QB Online backup

Hi, I know that QB Online does it's own backup on its own servers, but seeing as the data actually belongs to my company and not the QB, I want to be able to backup my own QB Online onto my company server, is this possible and if not when is QB adding this option.

The second part of my question is that QB Desktop allows you to restore to a previous backup and I see that QB Online only offer this option with QB Online Advance. This should be a basic part of all QB Online packages as human errors always occur and we shouldn't be made to take up Advance and pay extra for this.

Finally, QB is using movemybooks to transfer QB Desktop onto QB Online, however I have just learnt that movemybooks say that the online company should not contain any data otherwise there will be a problem with transferring the data. I have already put in our company information and designed an invoice template and even linked MTD to HMRC website, how can this information be deleted so that there is no problem with the transfer from Desktop to Online through movemybooks.

I would appreciate a feed back from QB

You can use a backup restore app

You need to purge your QBO account before MMB converts your data from QBD. Otherwise, you can purchase another third party service to convert your data to your existing QBO account.

QB Online backup

Hello MarioNDS, Thanks for posting on the Community page,

It's not possible to do this, it would be a case of just having to export the data out and save it to your pc, there is no other way of doing it again can leave feedback about this in main cogwheel.

You can leave this as feedback within the main cog wheel this gets sent straight to the developer team.

So you will need to ring the support line on 0808 234 5337, the line is open mon to fri 8am to 7pm and is free from any UK landline or mobile to get the QBO account purged if you have put data in it, then once it has been purged you will then just need to set the VAT back up again in QBO, if you have not entered any data then you can proceed. Basically step 3 on Movemybooks will tell you if you need to do a purge as it will tell you it contains data. If you know that it does then like I say ring the support line they can get the account purged for you, once purged connect vat up again then you will be able to proceed with movemybooks.

QB Online backup

Hi Ashleigh1, many thanks for the reply, how about answering the other two parts of my question. Also you say it's not possible to do this, maybe QB should look at this as I said the data belongs to us your customers and we have every right to be able to backup our own data on any platform that we want, we are paying you to use your software, that is it but the data is owned by your customer. Also we have every right to be able to restore from a previous backup.

Even Microsoft (as big as they are) allows us to backup and restore onto and from our own servers.

QB Online backup

Hi Fiat Lux - ASIA, many thanks for your reply, if that is the case then it more than reinforces my request that QB introduce a backup and restore onto QB Online, how can I be responsible for something that I have no option to backup and no option to restore. It makes QB's terms of service void.
