Adding notes to invoices.

Is there a way I can add a note to my  invoices detailing the dates I have worked? 

I’m a subcontractor so I work for various people sporadically. Is there a way I can add what dates I have worked, to save me having to send and individual invoice for every date I’ve worked? It would help keep track of what I have invoiced for.

Adding notes to invoices.

I'm pleased to assist you in adding notes to your invoices, @Rob997.

 

I can see that you've selected two products, QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

 

For QBO, you can add notes in different fields on your invoices. You can select the most suitable one to add the dates you've worked. These include:

 

  • Note to customer - for your client,
  • Internal customer notes (hidden) - for your personal notes about the client, and
  • Memo on statement (hidden) - which won't appear on your invoice but will show up on the statement.

 

To add the notes, simply open an invoice and scroll down to find the fields. Please refer to the attached screenshot for guidance.

 

 

In QBSE, you can use the Note to Customer field to add notes to your invoices. Open the invoice and scroll down to find this field. I've attached a screenshot as a reference.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I completely forgot to mention I’m doing all my invoicing from my phone and I can’t seem to find those fields you’ve mentioned. Sorry I’ve only just started using QuickBooks so I’m still getting my head round it!

Let me chime in and provide information about adding notes in different fields on your invoices.

 

To add notes for the dates you've worked in QuickBooks Online (QBO), make sure to turn on the service date in the Manage option and then select Customization to activate the service date feature on the web version or interface. Once you do this, it'll be reflected in your mobile app invoice interface.

 

You can also refer to the screenshot provided below for visual guidance:

Additionally, if you're referring to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), please note that the QBSE mobile app was discontinued and will no longer be available as of March 24, 2024.
