Hello Leslie askew

John Lewis Finance is not yet on open banking however we will be updating this link when it is.

In the mean time it would be a case of manually uploading a CSV into Quickbooks with the bank transactions in. John Lewis did change their login flow originally which affected customers being able to connect before open banking became the mandatory connection type for third parties like us.

You can send to us a request support for this financial institution, @carolbkelly1

We add support for new financial institutions based on the number of customer requests, and also on approvals from the institution themselves.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu and select Add Account.
  2. Search for the name of your financial institution.
  3. Click the Request support for your bank button.
  4. Provide all the information needed on the Can’t find your bank page.
  5. Click the Request button to submit it.

Check the following article for more information: Identify the correct bank

In the meantime, you can add the transactions from John Lewis Finance credit card to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account by downloading from their website and uploading it to your QBO account. See these articles:

Let me know if you still need help with your credit card transactions. I’m always here to assist.

Hi MaryJoy,

Thanks for the advice.

This John Lewis credit card used to upload automatically to QB, then it stopped.  When you choose Add Account, I can get to John Lewis Finance– Beta, and when I contacted them, they said they weren't compatible with QB.  I'm looking for the Request support button you mentioned, but don't see it anywhere.

I am able to upload manually, but it's so much nicer not to have to do it that way....

Thanks again!

Carol

Thanks for getting back to us, @carolbkelly1.

I can show you how we can get to the Request button. Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking the menu and click Add Account.
  2. Simply type Test in the search box.
  3. Go to the bottom part and select Show more.
  4. Scroll down again to the bottom part, then click Still can't find your bank?.
  5. You'll now be routed to the Connect an account page. Simply edit the Bank name and enter the Bank web address(URL), then click Request.

After you've downloaded transactions from your financial institution, you can assign and categorise them in QuickBooks. This will help you to easily review your transactions.

That's it! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance. Wishing you and your business continued success in all that you do.

With all due respect, this is not an answer to the question asked.

John Lewis appears in the list of institutions for Banking.

It used to work and doesn't now

I've asked John Lewis and they say they are compliant with Open Banking which makes sense because they updated their security at the end of last year.

Can you please investigate and let us know when this facility will return?
