I tried to run an employee report, and all I get is a "Time Activities by Customer Detail Report"
I do not need that report - I requested an employee report.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Why does QB online not fix these reporting issues, its a nightmare.

The report that it generates is just a time activity report - which means it will not show any transactions related to the employee. Your workaround would be correct, you would need to go to that account and customise so it filters for the specific employee. If you would like the developers to improve the report selection on QuickBooks Online, please use the feedback option within the cog wheel - this is something we are always looking to improve on as we appreciate the reports within Desktop are more detailed.

I just wanted to run a report of payments '/ transactions for one employee for a specific date range.
If I click on "Employees" and then "run report" for the particular employee I get a customer related report. I am just puzzled by this as to why a customer report comes up for an employee.
I have since gone to Accounts, then salary payments and customised from there. An additional 40 minutes for one report that was always available (like so many others) on QB desktop. We cannot use ANY of these online reports.

Thanks for the feedback.
I have sent so many requests regarding the reporting, but have now stopped as nothing has changed (since April 2017) Our clients are fed up because their statements are wrong. The auditors are unhappy because the reporting is wrong. Now the VAT calculation is incorrect as well and throws the amounts out. All in all if we could we would stop using QB we would. asap.
Oh, and perhaps think of changing the name of the report so that it is what it says?
i.e."Employee, run report" does hint that the report will be regarding the Employee..... Just saying..

Regarding the VAT calculating incorrectly we can have a look into this . Do you mean the way QuickBooks has the VAT set up or are the boxes not calculating correctly based on the transactions that are in them
