I cant link my business checking account from M&T Bank

I've got your back on linking your business checking account in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), @Splicerman6061.

Did you receive any error messages when trying to connect your checking account? Any additional information would help us provide the best resolution based on the error received.

In the meantime, let's check some possible reasons why you can't link your checking account in QBSE. Here's a list of them:

  • The bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Log in credentials set up in QBSE doesn't match with the online banking login.
  • QBSE is unable to connect to your bank's website.
  • Your bank's website is undergoing maintenance or server issues.

If you can confirm that the connection issue isn't listed above, let's try logging in to your QBSE account using a private browser. This way, we can check if this is browser data related issue. Here's how to use a private browser:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
  • Press Command + Shift + N for Safari

Once logged in, go back and try to connect your checking account again to double-check. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If this works, it means that you need to clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh.

If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

Once your checking account is connected, you might want to read this article to learn how to categorise the transactions: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Should you need any additional assistance while managing your bank transactions, you can leave a comment below. I'll be sure to get back to you.
