Keep getting OBA28 error when connecting to bank?

Hi there, @userdeathjrd.

I want to make sure you're able to connect your bank in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) without any error.

First, I'd advise checking your bank's website if there are any issues on their end that can cause the error.

If there isn't, let's do essential troubleshooting procedures to isolate the error. To begin, please log in to your account via incognito. These browses won't save any cache or history.

You can use these hotkeys below:

  • Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Microsoft Edge)

From there, re-connect the bank to check if it's already operating competently. Ensure to use the PINsentry token in connecting the account. If that works, I'd recommend you to go back to your normal browser and initiate clear the cache. Doing in other supported browsers is a dominant decision too.

Once connected, the recent transactions will download automatically in the system. All you need to is categorise them to avoid any duplicates. For more details, check out this link: Categorise and match online bank transactions.

You also have an option to import all the old data into QuickBooks. Just export the transactions from your bank, then manually download them in QBSE. For the complete instructions, visit this article: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Lastly, may I know the bank's name you've tried to connect with? So I can check and provide exact resolutions.

I've added some articles about handling bank transactions, reconciliation, and other relevant matters.

Don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other concerns. I'm happy to provide details or explanations. Keep safe!
