I'll share some information about the migration from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, neil32.
For now, we're still currently working on a new service to help you make your move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online (QBO) since we are discontinuing our Desktop offering in the UK region. At the moment, you can use excel to import your CSV data lists.
To start the process, you can download your data to move out of QuickBooks Desktop. Here's how:
To give you more details on the process, I've added this article your guide: QuickBooks Desktop Discontinuation Support Hub.
Furthermore, QuickBooks Online makes it easy for you to record your business expenses. To know more about this, check out this article for more details: Enter And Manage Expenses In QuickBooks Online.
Please touch base with us here in the Community if you have any questions concerning the migration process. Remember, we're here to make your we get you covered
Nope, even though they said it would be back on weeks ago.
It's almost like they don't want all the loyal Quickbooks Desktop users moving over to the Online version because it's actually so bad.
We expect them to release an enhanced converter tool in mid-October. Otherwise, you may consider purchasing a third-party service to convert data to QB Online or another accounting app.
Hello, is the migration issue solved yet?
Hi all, we've launched our new migration path with Move My Books which is available now for all users of QuickBooks for Desktop 2009 and above. At the moment, data can be migrated to QB Online Essentials and QB Online Plus, and we're working to include QB Online Simple Start. Please click here to be directed to MMB where you can view full info & begin the migration.
Warning the Mymove software is only free for 24 months of transactions NOT 2yrs plus current or the 5-6 yrs HMRC like.
In the UK - we have to move -no choice and now the move has become way more problematic.

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2020 or 2021 to access your historical data for good if required.
I can see how difficult this has been when migrating to QuickBooks Online (QBO), Dhami.
Please know that this isn’t the kind of experience we want you to have about the missed callbacks from the support agent. Rest assured, I'm here to help and address your concerns right away. When importing data conversion to QuickBooks Online, we only transfer the following data:
You can check out these articles about importing data to the Online version:
You may wish to consider using a data conversion service from an outside company. Just access your desktop software when working with a third party. If you currently don't have access to it, download, install, and use this 30-day version of QuickBooks Desktop 2021. Follow the steps in this article to export your Desktop data so you have it ready when you use another program to manage your bookkeeping: QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation support. Then, go to Moving your data out of the QuickBooks Desktop section.
If you need further assistance with this one, please reach out to our Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and help you with this one. You can also ask our support if you need a third-party application to migrate classes to your QBO account. Here's how to reach them:
