Hello Homeandcastlehouskeeping,
Welcome to the Community. I'd be glad to lend a hand with the emailed invoice from QuickBooks Self-Employed.
We've received similar reports from other users about not being able to view the invoice detail. While our product engineers are working hard to fix the issue, I recommend using the Export as PDF feature.
Here's how:
Once you have the copy, you can email the invoice manually to your customers. I also encourage contacting support and providing them the investigation number INV-31685 to include you on the list of affected users.
You can reach them through these steps:

Hi,
Looks like this is still an issue, I'm fairly new to QBSE and my customers are having the error message as in the image below. I then had to email the invoice to my customer with an apology and this is kind of defeating the point of the in-app invoices. Can you please assist, many thanks
Hello DaoNaturalHealth,
Are you able to send a test invoice to yourself and see if you get the same error message as your customers, and let us know. Thanks
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I sent a new invoice to myself and all ok, no errors but when I open the email that was sent to them, this is the error both they and I receive, thanks
Have you made any changes to the invoice after you have sent the email invoice to your customer?
Not that I'm aware of no but I'll bare this in mind in the future if this can prevent an invoice from being viewed after sending, thanks
No problem, if you have any other issues, please reach back out to us and we will be more than happy to help you.
This is happening to me. What can I do?
Let me share some troubleshooting steps that will help your customers view the invoice you’ve sent to them, @phplumbingheatin
Most common display issues might be caused by too many cache files in the browser. This is the possible reason why your customers are unable to see your invoice details.
I recommend accessing your QBSE account via a private browser. This way, we can identify if this is a browser issue. You can use the keyboard shortcuts below:
· Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
· Safari: Command + Shift + N
· Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
From there, you can create a test invoice and resend it. If it works, then the main browser may have too much historical data from previously visited websites that cause this kind of behavior. That said, your customer needs to go back to the regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history.
You can also use other supported browsers.
I’m also adding an article if in case you want to customize your invoice before sending it to your customers: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
