I (as I have mentioned before) have been forced onto QB Online. To say it's inadequate is an understatement.
This new issue is one that is not an issue in QB Desktop.
I enter a Purchase Order, when goods received, I then enter the Bill. In Desktop, when you view the Bill, there is a column that shows you the originating Purchase Order Number. You can also click the Transaction History button, and this opens a history window allowing you to click directly in the originating Purchase Order.
I have migrated my data into QB Online, my question is;
From the Bill in Online, how can I find the originating Purchase Order? There is no button linking to the PO for migrated transactions in the same way that there is newly entered transactions as detailed above.
If this is a bug, and not resolvable, as many of my other issues have been, will you continue to keep my Desktop copy unlocked for free of charge?
Thank you in advance, my apologies for the tone, but I have wasted approximately 100 hours fixing faults, tidying data over the last month or so since my forced 'upgrade' and due to the associated fall out caused by migration.
Hello @markish99,
If the bills are already received in QuickBooks Desktop, they weren't converted to QuickBooks Online. You'll have to manually locate the purchase order link to your bill transactions.
However, for transactions created in QuickBooks Online, you can open the bill and click the hyperlink to see the purchase order.
I'll also share with you this article about purchase orders for more information. You can also visit our page for more tips and recommendations about managing suppliers and expenses.

Thank you for your reply.
This leaves me with a bit of a problem - I have a few suppliers where in any given month, I would raise two hundred purchase orders and receive four hundred invoices. I regularly refer back to this information and it is important that these transactions are linked. So, the only way I can view the links is to maintain QB Desktop, but if I wish to continue to use this to view the links as I cannot do in QBO, you will charge me.
This doesn't seem fair. Wouldn't you agree.
