We are currently getting set up with QuickBooks and trying to find out how everything works. We are using QuickBooks on Three Machines with Three main Users, so a small set up.
However, two machines will load the Projects page, whilst one returns a blank page, except for the side and top bars. Logging in as all three users gives the same issue, but logging in as all three users on the other two machine, projects works.
We have cleared the Cache and History, but this did nothing. all three are using Edge. so there must be a setting somewhere stopping this from working and we are wondering if anyone has an idea?
Hello CreativeCoatings,
Welcome to the Community - thank you for your question!
Could you please try to access this via Chrome?
I understand it is working on Edge on the other devices, however QuickBooks is designed to work on Chrome, and so we have to try this step first.
Thanks,
Talia
Hi Talia
We will try this, once the machine is back in the office tomorrow morning. But before I try this, can you please explain how I set QuickBooks to only open in Chrome, without affecting the other web based products that require Edge? I have some specific software that requires Edge.
The second thing to say is that projects works on two separate machines, and runs on Edge. by running in chrome it work differently and look slightly different. ideally I would just like to change the setting that is stopping it from running in Edge.
I look forward to hearing from you, as I would like an answer to my question, not just a a work around.
Hello,
Unless you specifically set Chrome to be your Default Browser; installing and using chrome will not affect any specific software that requires Edge. We are not advising to change any of this, or to uninstall or remove edge. We'd simply like you to copy https://uk.qbo.intuit.com/login into Chrome, Login and try loading projects.
There is no specific setting preventing it, we have no clear explanation to suggest why it works better in Chrome, just years of supporting our customers, has given me more than a thousand examples where we've fixed a customers problem/error/question, simply by downloading and opening QuickBooks in Chrome. This needs testing against your account.
Quickbooks is Optimised for Chrome, so we test our features most thoroughly in Chrome. When using Edge - Quickbooks can sometimes not appear as it's designed to do. I've seen that fonts can be different, pages can be askew. It can do some "odd" stuff. This can happen in any Browser, in fairness; but our engineers have tested our product most in chrome, and so chrome just works best with our program.
If you get the same behaviour in Chrome, we know the issue is not browser related, and we need to look at something different and more complex. Please let us know how you get on tomorrow.
