We have QuickBooks pro 2002 and are looking to upgrade to QuickBooks desktop 2019. Since the file is very old I tried the upgrader's kit (2006) and then tried to restore file in 2019 version however I am having errors when trying to update the file in 2019. Am I missing something or am I doing something wrong?
A 17 year stretch will require more than one intermediate upgrade, maybe as many as there are votesxagainst any plan the PM presents for Brexit (lol). Seriously you may need to upgrade in 3 -5 year increments. Between 2002 and now the underlying database has changed at least once maybe twice. If you can get upgraded to at least 2014 the 2019 program will probably open it just fine. This means you need to find a local pro advisor with 2010 and 2014 versions at least.
Or contact Intuit directly and ask if they will upgrade your file for you. It has been reported that if you buy the new software direct that they will provide sometimes free updating of the data file but even for Intuit it is a multi step procesd

US reps get slapped when they publicly post Intuit toll free numbers rather than making customers jump through 5 hoops to find the number on their own. Guess you do things different. We get so many fake spammers posting toll free numbers for not-intuit that we continually advise that if a number is posted chances are it is fake.
Thanks. Can you give me licence number for free trial of QuickBooks Pro 2010 please? Or is this not possible.
Hello aarona-borg,
We only offer trials for the 2019 version. Please find attached a link to our article that contains these links: here
Thanks,

Thanks. But from QuickBooks 2008 to QuickBooks 2019 I need to update my file again as it is not allowing me to restore company file. That is why I need trial version licence number.
Hello,
You will need to contact the support line above to ensure you go through the correct steps for this.
Thanks,
Talia
I managed to update file to 2006. Are there any QuickBooks UK Pro Trial versions I can use so that we only buy the 2019 desktop version? Or do we have to buy all versions to do the update.
You can search for a pro advisor or accountant in your area in possession of older editions. No interim versions even if new up through 2015 could be registered and you won't find trial versions for other than current or couple years back.
If you had said you had successfully update to 2016 not 2006 that would be a world of difference. At this point however unless you find friends or family or new bff at the local pub with other years your last resort will be to contact intuit directly and request they upgrade your file to newest version. There may be conversion services in the UK. I know of a reputable one on this side of the pond but he only works with US versions.
It has been reported in the past that intuit will convert your data for free if you ask just right (and buy new version from them and not a retailer)
