Since QuickBooks has discontinued the UK versions, know that there's no other way to update your file to the latest version of QBDT. However, you can consider exploring our QuickBooks Online UK and register for a free trial version. Although the multi-channel feature is currently unavailable, QBO has a lot of 3rd-party apps that you can integrate to manage your business.
If you wish to continue, I can input the steps below so you can proceed to explore QuickBooks Online UK. But before you proceed, you'll want to create a backup copy of your QuickBooks Desktop company file. To begin, here's how:
- In QuickBooks, go to the File menu and select Switch to Single-user Mode.
- Go to the File menu again and hover over Back up Company. Then select Create Local Backup.
- In the window, select Local Backup and then Next.
- In the Local Backup Only section, select Browse and select where you want to save your backup company file.
- Set the number of backups you want to keep. This is optional.
- This runs a test to make sure your backup file is in good shape before you save.
- When you're ready, select OK and then click Save it now and Next.

Once done, follow these simple steps to register for a free trial account in QBO:
- Go to this link https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/
- Select the country you want to set up.
- Click See all plans, and then Select Free trial for 30 days.
- Choose a subscription, and then click Try it free.
- You can click Continue with payroll if you want to add a free trial payroll or without payroll.
- Check out.
- Enter your user name and password, and then set up company.
