I am new to quickbooks and also new to being self employed.
I was advised that I needed a UTR code from the HMRC to enter into quickbooks. I have been in contact with them and they have sent me my UTR code.
I am unable to find out where 'on quickbooks' that I should enter the UTR code
If anyone can advise I would be grateful.
I am not VAT registered if this makes a difference.
Many thanks,
Fraser

Hello Fraser,
Welcome to the Community page,
Can we check are you registered for CIS? You don't need to put that UTR code you got off HMRC into your account in QuickBooks unless you are CIS registered and using QuickBooks Online. If you are using QuickBooks Self Employed CIS is not currently something you're able to input/file so there is not a space for the UTR code.

Click on the settings cog in the top right hand corner, go to settings and accounts, click advanced settings and click construction industry scheme (CIS)
You will be able to enter your UTR number in there, please bear in mind once this feature is turned on it cannot be turned off.
