This whole thing is turining into an absolute nightmare! Is this some kind of scam ? You literally force me to have to end using some functional software for some watery, flakey half arsed version of something that was working fine! and to top it off 90% of my data is not being transfered over! You want to charge me £900.00 for my historical data to be carried over after paying for it monthly ??? what the hell was I paying for in the 1st place ? Estimates, purchase orders, inventory, nothing that I was paying you for is being transfered over!
WHERE IS THE FUNCTIONALITY ON THE QBO THAT WAS ON DESKTOP VERSION?
Custom fields for products and services that were on the Desktop Version where are they ?? Ive been using this software for oinly a day and found half of its is missing. Just not unusable in this state, now I have to find alternatives at even MORE costs!! What on earth is going on, just a few basic fields, with the most very basic of customisation its rediculous!
You are forcing us to move from your software when the alternative is missing more than half of what we had, has to be some kind of false advertising or sales misuse, you have removed so much functionalty its not even funny. Im gobsmaked at this utterly crap move.
Hello Info5, thanks for posting on the Community page, we want to rest assured that this is no kind of scam for our customers. we fully value what you are saying and we have taken everything you have said and passed it onto the team. Our developers are always continuing to improve our QuickBooks online packages for our customers.
I totally agree info5................welcome to my world and the rest of the UK, it's utter crap to say the least :(
Are you new Ashleigh1? Im not buying the cut & pate response. How can you honestly expect me to belive this when I tried QBO a few a years back and it was lacking the functionality back then ? with the same cut & paste response when we asked back then. All thats happend is the UI has changed, but underneath its still the same basic watered down version lacking in any real use.
I have been reluctant to move becuase you didn't need a crystal ball to see what an absoluet s**t show quickbooks was about to create and here we are now forced into playing along.
Hello Info5, we are sorry that you feel that way about the way QuickBooks has turned out but if you do need any help at all with migrating any data or moving, we will be more than happy to help you with that.
@info5Intuit are just ripping everyone off. I was raging when I realised how terrible the product is. I was lucky, I managed to move my data over when Intuit still handled the transfer for free.
But, save your breath of typing on here as you either get the bot responses, or Ashleigh saying how much they care, and they'll take everything on board. They don't. Nothing ever gets fixed, there's loads of missing 'features' really basic things like you're not allowed to put your own logo on purchase order, or statements. The missing fields thing has made a mess of my 22 years worth of stock history. No ability to change or add next to nothing on send forms.
Intuit seems to think that everyone runs an ebay shop, definitely not for anything remotely industrial or for larger businesses.
I did however, just manage to make it work as it is, but it's terrible. And now they are offering an upgraded version for bigger businesses with all the same big and missing features....
Oh and don't even try to use the chat service. No, actually, give it a go, it's an experience which will live with you forever.

Welcome to my world as they say - UTTER PARC service and online system, god I hate it with a passion
I will be looking at moving mine to something normal from QBO very soon I think
@Kev-20Been stuck with this backside of a service for about 16 months. I tried moving to Xero but it's equaslly as bad, Sage is waaaay to expenisive.
@Mark ArmisteadOMG....I also tried Xero and Freshbooks but neither done stock or something like purchase orders they didn't do, so they both went out the window but as you say, both equally as p*** poor
I never liked Sage on the desktop 18yrs ago and if it's way too expensive now then I seriously don't know what to do as I can't stick with this sack of pants for much longer
Too much scrolling up/down and way too many mouse clicks to do anything "Quick" along with a lack of editability to say the least
How can the directors be impressed with being given a design like QBO the way it is?
I imported my DT stock list to QBO a few months back and it threw everything up in the air, I adjusted the quantities last week and what did it do? Made a right mess of that, in fact, "Bulk Action"...hahahaha, you joking !! you can only bulk action a handful of stock items at a time but make sure you go back to the stock list to make sure QBO has actually changed the quantities which in my case it trebbled it all, and it was then that I was starting to have doubts as to whether I can actually rely on QBO which made me feel well uneasy to say the least
lol I did the exact same thing with stock, took me ages to hide all the triplicates, because you cant actually deleted a stock entry. Seem we have gone done the same path. I dropped Sage off desktop about 22 years ago, QBD was so much more rounded product, even back then. I was suckered into Xero by their sales staff that they could do everything I asked of them. After spending a few hundred quid moving my data over it came quickly apparent that it was, in fact, worse than QBO.
The thing that really makes me mad at Intuit is, just with a few more tweaks, QBO could actually do a reasonable job, but the total lack of improvements and customer engagement is maddening. But, stuck with it unfortunately.
The feedback systems makes me laugh. Send in suggestion, get totally and utterly zero response. I keep telling them it's broken but I don't think most of the support agents on here give a hoot. And the fact all of them except two are bots. Arn't they @Ashleigh1
@Mark Armistead
Love the message Mark and agree with the lot of it, but now get this one...........Do a PO to a supplier say like I did yesterday June 23rd 2023, then receive a payment from a customer who paid on April 5th 2023
Ok then, you receive the invoice from the supplier you made an order to on June 2rd 2023 - fine........go to that supplier, find your PO where it says "COPY TO BILL" - wonderful, what couldn't be easier..............ERRRRRR, the date is April 5th 2023
How the F can it copy to bill and enter a previous date from a customer you received a payment from 2 months previous??
Jesus H I hate this. A best friend of mine recently used MMB, yesterday in-fact, errrrm, it shafted up his VAT figures by a whopping £6500, he called QBO akin to having a Rolls Royce going down to a Lada !! at an seriously increaded price
Totally agree we have used QB for 30 years since our inception, we have 1000 of stock items that are not able to convert into QBO, who in their right mind would allow this to be put forward as a good idea, it is obviously crippling the customers you are forcing to use this version, it may seem good for QB but it's a disaster for many I suggest it may be prudent to form a group ready to see how we stand legally as many companies are being bought to their knees by this reckless situation.
Kev there's some little oddities with inputting PO's to bill. When you've received your supplier invoice (there's no adding to stock off a delivery note anymore, guess you know that one, another bug bear of mine) Go to new bill and put your suppliers name in. It will then display the open PO's which you can add to that bill. I hope thats what you mean anyway? So don't copy to bill, the date the bill is created doing this way should be the days date.
I had a load of issues with my VAT when I started, was actually doubling the VAT. After several phone calls to support they would admit that there was an issue. It actually took my accountant who called and then it was sorted out in 30 mins. Because I couldn't trust it after that I actually ran both QBO and QBD side by side for all of last year, just to make sure QBO was doing things right, which it was. Calmed my nerves down a bit as I has to companies moved over.
It's not ideal, and I know Intuit don't give a flying you know what about us so I've resigned myself to the fact they'll NEVER fix ANYTHING. Regardless of what the Intuit staff say on here.
@John Smith Believe I've been ripping my hair out for 18 months with this lot. You’ll be wasting your breath because they don't give a rats bottom about us, loyal, long term customers. QBO was design for someone running a pie shop rather than full multifaceted businesses with stock assemblies etc. I’m lucky, I can JUST make it work for my two businesses. I know a lot of others can’t.
@Mark Armistead
Mark, you know I know :) , and VAT.....OMG, I done the exact same thing, ran QBDT for VAT end of Oct 2022, Jan 2023 and April 2023, all paid to HMRC
So, lets "File" these figures in QBO. The VAT I paid in December 2022, I'll do a cheque to VAT Control......hahaha, no chance, it wouldn't let me so I had to create a supplier called HMRC VAT and do a cheque to that in order to balance of December bank statements
So, file January 2023, adjust every box figure, why? who knows but I had to and the same for April 2023, however, I forgot to enter a customer payment that went back to December. As you'd expect, it threw that figure as an "Exception"....I know, I'll log my accountant is because it wouldn't let me delete the filed VAT for April 2023. It was only £73 out but I wanted the figures to tally up perfectly. Accountant comes back to me and says it won't let him delete it ....WT* ?
So I turn the QBO off, I've had a gut full of it. Go back to it the next day and it's filed my April VAT twice !! I kid you not Mark, you couldn't make it up. Thankfully it wasn't recorded so I managed to delete one of the duplicated filed VAT amounts
:(
I’m just glad I pulled the trigger early and jumped over the QBO with a nice long run up to turning QBD off. At least running them side by side wasn’t cocking up my real accounts. I’m a lot more comfortable with it now but makes me mad at the lack of fixes. It could actually be a good product if they just listened to us customers.
Here, here Mark @Mark Armistead but as you've said all along, I think we've all got "Bob Hope" of that ever happening
What do they say in business, "It's easy to loose customers and blo**y hard to gain them"
