Holmes_Books is correct.
The mileage feature is relatively new when compared to other functions on QuickBooks.
Currently, the feature is there to help keep everything in one place, and you can tally up the totals and create a single entry on a periodic basis. In our trials with test customers; this did improve their time spent working on this; as they didn't have to create individual transactions for each.
Our engineers are working on including the mileage calculation automatically in future releases of this Product.
Just spoke to support about this,
It doesnt transpose(add it) into your accounts, you have to do an entry for it - either each trip or periodically(monthly) there is no automation of adding it into the accounts from the mileage page therefore its just a record!
So at the moment its double work! and not worth putting in the left column for me. I'll just stick with the bookkeeping entry.
