Searching expenses

Why can't I search for an expense on my Samsung A7 tab using the android quickbooks app? I've deleted, reinstalled, cleared data and refreshed but it says no expenses found.

Hello Louisen, Thanks for your question. We are not seeing any other reports of this. What version of the app do you have downloaded and when are you searching under on the tabs in the app ( are you searching for date/amount?

It's the latest version of the app. I'm wanting to search for amounts to add notes but it keeps saying nothing is found. I'm having to scroll through all the expenses to find the one I want. I don't have this issue with my android phone, it brings up the expense I want.

I appreciate your effort in clearing the app data and reinstalling the app. If I'm in your shoes, I'd also prefer to search for an expense using amounts or other details rather than checking each transaction.


Since you already did the things we can suggest from here, it's best to take your case to our Support team. That way, they can use more tools to gather data to resolve the issue.

  1. Click the Gear or the Help icon.
  2. Choose Help and Support.
  3. Click Contact Us at the bottom.
  4. Enter a summary of your concern and click Let's talk.
  5. Select Get a call or Start a message, depending on which one is available.

Please don't hesitate to go back to this thread if you need more help with your expenses. We'll keep an eye on your post, so I won't miss your reply.

I've already spoken to someone in a chat through the help section. They couldn't help unfortunately. I am trying to search using amounts. The screenshot is for an expense from a few months ago which is in quickbooks, I have to scroll through everything to find it.

Let me direct you to the best support available so this gets addressed right away. I recommend contacting our support team. I understand you've already contacted them. However, they have the authority to look into your account and investigate the cause of this.


They can also escalate this to our higher support if needed. To reach them, you can refer to the steps shared by my colleague above. 


In the meantime, you'll want to sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account on a regular web browser and search for the transaction from there. Let me show you how.


  1. Click the Magnifying Glass icon.
  2. Enter the date, amount, or transaction number you’re looking for, then select the desired transaction.
  3. If the transaction you're looking for does not appear on the results list, select Advanced Search2.PNG
  4. Adjust the filters to find the type of data you want. 
  5. Select Search. Narrow the list by changing the Last Modified Date to Amount
  6. Then Select Add Filter.
