I have just paid my VAT for the first time using VAT-MTD, which took me to the HMRC site wherein I entered all the VAT calculations in the relevant boxes and eventually paid HMRC on line through their website.
But having done that no entries appear in Quick Books showing that the VAT Return has been submitted nor that the amount due has been paid. The due amount has gone from my bank account. So again I am totally confused and hope someone out there can help.
I'll share some information about filing VAT-MTD. Once the return has been submitted to HMRC you will receive an email confirmation containing a receipt number along with information of your return. The email is sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Meanwhile, you'll want to mark your VAT return as filed in QuickBooks.
In your case, you'll want to check your VAT account from your Chart of Account if the VAT payable amount was removed or deducted. Press Ctrl + A to open the Chart of Accounts. If it is still there, please contact our Customer Care Support so we can investigate further.
