Accessing the Name field for journal entries in transaction reports

When running transaction reports, the Name field is never populated for journal entries. This makes them next to useless for accounts with high numbers of journalled transactions. Can this bug be corrected please?!

Accessing the Name field for journal entries in transaction reports

Hi there, @richard96.

When running the Journal report, the source of information displayed on the Name field is on the name attached to the transaction and not on the line item of the Journal entry (JE) created. Thus, that column will not populate anything for JE. If you'd want a name to post on the report, you can use other transactions and not JE.

Accessing the Name field for journal entries in transaction reports

These are journal entries and cannot be done using other transaction types. When a transaction report finds a journal entry within a ledger account, it should break out the relevant entries in the journal and show the Name field against each. This is basic stuff for any accounting system and worked perfectly in QB desktop. Please get this fixed ASAP.

Is this ever going to be fixed. It worked in QB desk top and journal entries are fundamental in any accounting system. If not i am going to have to change to another system.
