Inputting new products with the same name but different codes. Is it possible to have the same product name multiple times with different codes?

Thank you for your inquiry, Elly. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), it's important to note that you cannot have multiple products or services with the same name, even if they have different codes. This restriction helps maintain clarity and accuracy in your inventory management.

To help you reach your goal, I suggest adding extra characters or identifiers to the service name. For instance, you could adjust the name to incorporate a distinct feature, like Service A or Variant. It will allow you to differentiate between the products or services while maintaining a similar naming pattern.

I understand that having the ability to use the same name for different codes is beneficial. I encourage you to send your feedback to our product development team. Your insights are valuable and can help improve the software for all users.

To send your input, here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
  3.  Under the Profile section, select Feedback.
  4. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.
