Hello Community Users! We just wanted to pop in and add an update to this thread
We have listened and recognised the need for a quicker, more streamlined process for adding accountants on Self Employed Quickbooks accounts which are billed by Apple/Google. Customers can now, no matter their billing profile (Intuit, Apple or Google), easily invite their accountant in just a few clicks. All you need to do, is go to the Company Cog, and click on the Accountant (New) button.
Any questions feel free to ask here.
Hello Douglas, We can certainly look into why you are not getting the accountant invite option:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:. Can we check do you pay your billing to Apple or Google Play?
Hi there Emma
Thanks so much for your reply - i pay via apple - am a self employed status and has just come out £3.99
I saw on one of the feeds about trying browser in private mode - but nothing has any effect on the cog profile icon !!!!!!
still no option to invite my accountant
Hi Douglas, Thanks very much for your reply, accounts billed by Apple do not have that option, the only way to have the accountant access would be to move your billing to Quickbooks by canceling it with Apple and then on the next bill date, signing into QB on a browser , it will then ask you to resubscribe and when you sign in after doing that you will then see the accountant option in the cog.
Hi emma ,,,,
O My Geeeeezzoooo thats so annoying and why is that not advertised on subscription option … grrrr !!!!!
Thanks so much for explaining why i find myself in this frustrating situation. And that the rooot cause is that i pay by apple - why on earth is this a fact ?
I still not sure what you suggest……
1 - cancel my apple payment
2 - wait till next payment is due - then pay quick books direct (is that just by using a debit card?)
does it cost more to pay QB direct in order to get the share with accountant option ?
3 - Quick books will request i resubscribe on next month payment date ….
through all this my account will stay active and retain all my info ?
So untill then will the only way i can share with my accountant be by giving him full access via my log in details - as it is January and i cant wait a month for this ?
Thank you so much -
Hi Douglas, the best solution would be to cancel your subscription within the app store today - you'll then have access as usual to this until the subscription expires on your next regular bill date. After this, log into QuickBooks via the web and you'll automatically be re-directed to enter payment details to re-subscribe. The subscription will then be charged at our current standard rate of £8/mo. +VAT @ 20%. - there's no additional charge to add your accountant. :)
I am in the same boat Douglas, so thanks for looking into this.
Quickbooks - get your act together. How UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. You are supposed to be a company that saves us time and money - not the polar opposite. Good grief. Who has time to faff about with subscriptions to make an icon appear. Very frustrating indeed.
